309S is a variant of 309 stainless steel with low carbon content, which is used for occasions requiring welding.  The lower carbon content minimizes the precipitation of carbides in the heat affected zone near the weld, which may lead to intergranular corrosion (welding corrosion) of stainless steel in some environments. It can withstand repeated heating below 980 ℃, and has high high temperature strength, oxidation resistance and carburization resistance.  309S stainless steel is mostly produced by steel plants, with good corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance. It can withstand 980 ° C high temperature. It is mainly used in boiler, chemical industry and other industries. 309 has no sulfur content compared with 309S.
