In order to improve the service life of manganese 35MN steel plate, surface treatment is usually carried out to facilitate the solid combination of manganese 35MN steel plate and anti-corrosion coating. Common treatment methods are: cleaning, tool derusting, pickling, shot blasting.

1. Cleaning

The grease, dust, lubricant and organic matter adhered on the surface of manganese 35MN steel plate are usually cleaned by solvent and emulsion. However, the rust, oxide scale and welding slag on the surface of manganese 35MN steel plate can not be removed, so other treatment methods are needed.

2. Tool derusting

The oxide scale, rust and welding slag on the surface of manganese 35MN steel plate can be cleaned and polished by wire brush. There are two kinds of tool derusting: manual tool derusting and power tool derusting. Manual tool derusting can reach SA2 level and power tool derusting can reach SA3 level. If the oxide scale on the surface of manganese 35MN steel plate is particularly firm, it may be difficult to remove the rust with tools, and other methods should be found.

3. Pickling

Common pickling includes chemical and electrolytic methods. However, only chemical pickling is used for pipeline anticorrosion. Chemical pickling can achieve a certain degree of cleanliness and roughness on the surface of 35MN steel plate, which is convenient for subsequent anchor lines. It is usually used as reprocessing after shot peening.

4. Shot blasting for rust removal

The high-power motor drives the blade to rotate at high speed, so that the steel sand, steel shot, iron wire segment, minerals and other abrasives are sprayed on the surface of manganese 35MN steel plate under the action of centrifugal force. On the one hand, the rust, oxide and dirt are completely removed. On the other hand, the manganese 35MN steel plate achieves the required uniform roughness under the action of fierce impact and friction of abrasives.

Among the four treatment methods, shot blasting is the most ideal one. Generally, shot blasting is mainly used for inner surface treatment of manganese 35MN steel plate, while shot blasting is mainly used for outer surface treatment of manganese 35MN steel plate.
